Mike Uriss has been creating award-winning commercial and fine art for over 25 years. He received his training in traditional media in Chicago at the American Academy of Art, and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. While living in San Diego working full time as a graphic designer and illustrator, Mike studied digital art at Platt College, where was also an authorized trainer for Autodesk 3D Studio. At EURORSCG DahlinSmithWhite in 1996, Mike was designated lead illustrator for all Intel web content.

 

For the last 15 years, as a resident of Charlottesville, Virginia, Mike continues to work full time in graphic art and illustration. He also teaches fine art and graphic design to a broad range of learners in children’s summer camps, at the University of Virginia School of Continuing and Professional Studies, Piedmont Virginia Community College Workforce Services, the Senior Center of Charlottesville and other classroom environments and pro bono opportunities. Mike holds a BA (Studio Art) from Mary Baldwin College.
